Mission Statement
The mission of the Child Welfare Field Instruction
Unit Program, a collaborative effort between units of the University of
Maine system and the State Department of Health and Human Services, is to improve
public child welfare services to children and families, through attracting
increased numbers of professionally trained social workers to the field of
public child welfare, and to provide an enhanced academic and field
practicum curriculum relevant to child welfare practice.
